Patent Granted US 12394193 B2 Scalable vector cages
A patent from a prior consulting engagement was granted on 8/19/2025. The method involves warping a visual part-template (“vector cage”) onto a vehicle for fine-grained part segmentation, which helped automate virtual vehicle inspections from images captured via mobile phone. Predicting perspective transformation parameters for an existing database of vector cages (i.e., vehicle templates) has considerably lower sample complexity and error-rates than learning a segmentation task from scratch across thousands of vehicles, each with hundreds of unique body parts/panels.
